JACK ZAGER

Jack is beyond thrilled to be working with the Opera Department and all of its super talented students at LACHSA. Not only am I a LACHSA alumnus, but I too was a student in the Opera Department all four years of high school. I am a graduate of the Herb Alpert School of Music @ UCLA where I majored in Music History and Industry.

At UCLA, I directed HOOLIGAN Theatre Company’s Production of Sweeney Todd, Music Directed and Conducted The Color Box Production of In The Heights, and Vocal Directed HOOLIGAN’s, A Chorus Line.

Last spring I directed my first production with the Opera Program @ LACHSA. I am so proud of our production Carousel, and I am thrilled to currently be working on our Fall operetta, Die Fledermaus. Looking ahead I am excited to direct our spring production of Fiddler on the Roof.

I am also currently directing operas for the Pacific Opera Project, and I am a proud Teaching Artist at The Miracle Project, where I teach neurodivergent students social skills through music, movement, and theater.
